How to Maintain a Good and Healthy Life Style

1

Emphasize fruits and veggies. A healthy diet is one that's full of vitamins, nutrients, and color (well, in addition to being balanced). And the easiest way to do this is through piling on the fruits and veggies. They're nutrient dense but not calorically dense -- meaning you can eat bunches and bunches without destroying your waistline and it's good for you. And, of course, the fresher the better!

2
Drink up the H2O. If you're looking for a miracle on Earth, water is the closest you'll probably get. Stay hydrated and just about every part of you will stay healthy -- your skin, your hair and nails, your organs, and even your mind. And you can lose weight, too! Studies show that you could lose 5 lbs in a year by just upping your water intake around a liter a day.
  • Part of the reason behind the weight loss is that drinking water keeps you full, but drinking cold water also ups your metabolism. In fact, drinking cold water (17 ounces, to be precise) can up your metabolism by up to 30% for 10-40 minutes. So get icy with your workout and you could burn even more calories.
3
Exercise. There is no way around it: having a sedentary lifestyle is just about the best way to drive your body into the ground. You have to stay active in order to stay healthy. If you don't use your brain, you lose it -- and same goes with your muscles! So whether you want to run 5ks for breakfast or you just walk the dog every night, do something. Your body craves it.
  • The CDC recommends 150 minutes a week of moderate physical activity, including some cardio and some strength-building activities.[5] That's 2 and a half hours, by the way. 2.5 hours out of 168. That's reasonable, right? And the more vigorous your exercise, the less you need.
  • If you're overweight or obese, the only way you don't know that losing weight is in your best interest is if you've been living under a rock that doesn't get wifi. Even losing 10 pounds can make significant improvements to your health.

Go for regular physical check-ups. As we age, it becomes increasingly more important that we are aware of our health, even if we aren't experiencing symptoms of anything. It's in your best interest to regularly go to the dentist and to the doctor, just to make sure you're in tip-top shape. When all goes well, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
  • In addition to general check-ups with both the dentist and the doctor, be tested for breast or prostate cancer and STDs regularly, and keep up-to-date on your shots. The last thing you want is something sinister to be festering in your body and you not doing a thing about it.
    • Those STD screenings will be a lot less scary if you practice safe sex. If you're sexually active, use condoms. Just do it.

5
Stay active in the small ways. Sometimes it's hard to get a workout in between work, social gatherings, the kids, and commitments we make that we can't get out of. When those busy times spring up, it's important to find other ways to get moving. Even if it's just 2 extra minutes of exercise, it adds up if you do it every day.

  • Examples? Park far away from where you're going. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Do 5 minutes of core workouts before your shower. Wash your car by hand. Take your date to the park. There are opportunities everywhere if you get creative.

6
Keep mentally stimulated. The brain is very much so a muscle -- it can get used to the paces you put it through. Put it in front of the television day in and day out and it will atrophy. It'll become lazy. But keep it moving and it'll stay fresh and raring for the next great adventure. So turn off the tube and do something to challenge yourself. try reading some thing or solving some equation, novels too can also keep the brain active. Its also improves you in your every day mental activities.

Sleep
.For many of us, sleep is the sweet balm that soothes and restores us after a long day of work and play. When we don't get adequate sleep at night, our entire lives are affected. We can't focus, we can't pay attention, we eat more, our hormones get all over the place, et cetera ad infinitum. We all need around 8 hours, but whether you need closer to 7 or 9 is an individual thing.
  • To make it easier, to get good quality sleep, start disconnecting sooner rather than later -- hopefully 2 or 3 hours before you go to bed. So get off the computer, stop staring at your cell phone, and hit "off" on that dang remote control. Read, take a bath, or just chill with your family or roommates. Live in the moment.
8
Prioritize your social network. Being social to humans is like breathing. If we don't get enough, our mental faculties suffer and we start losing our grip on how life should be. So make time for your friends! Call up that family member you haven't spoken to in forever. When you feel balanced, when you feel like you're an integral part of a community, everything else falls into place.
  • It's easy to get swamped with work or to just put work into your relationship, but life is much more fruitful when you surround yourself with a blooming social network. Make it a point to, every so often, have a night with family or friends. It'll be a stress release and you'll have more people to lean on when you need them -- a very, very comforting, healthy feeling.

9
Follow your passion. Really. Because at the end of day, life without passion isn't a healthy life. Everybody has a dream and even if you can't make it something you're able to pursue 24/7, it can be something that has its own little niche in your life. So spend Wednesday afternoon writing your book. Take guitar lessons at the age of 45. Pack your bags and make that move. You won't feel content without it.
  • Happiness is an integral part to being happy, and following your passion is a good way to ensure that your happiness is here to stay. If it gives you that warm feeling on the inside, it's meant to be. Never let your passions fall by the wayside. They're there to keep your heart and mind happy and healthy.

Orlando gunman's current wife might face Jail time for being an Aid to the Shooting that left 50 dead

Orlando gunman's current wife drove him to Pulse Nightclub to "scope it out" and tried to talk
him out of the attack

Noor Zahi Salman, the second and current wife of Orlando gunman Omar Mateen, might face criminal charges for failing to disclose vital
information about her husband's plans for the Pulse nightclub shooting that left at least 50 dead and 53 others injured.

According to NBC, Noor told federal agents she was with Mateen when he bought ammunition and a holster, and once drove him to Pulse nightclub
"because he wanted to scope it out." She also claimed that she tried to talk her husband out of carrying out the attack.

Mateen opened fire at Pulse early Sunday morning, leaving 50 dead and 53 injured. Twenty-seven victims remained hospitalized on Tuesday. Six were in critical condition, according to hospital officials who said the death toll was still at risk of rising because one or two of the patients were "profoundly ill"

Authorities are considering filing criminal charges against Noor for failing to tell them what she knew before the attack, law enforcement officials say, but no decision has been made. She is cooperating with investigators.

Mateen, 29, was born in New York to Afghan immigrants. He was married twice, and was the father of a 3-year-old boy.

Fiancee refuses to sleep with her partner until he meets her outrageous demands

Janey, 30, from Durham, has a way of making her soldier partner of five years, Ross give in to her demands and it seems to work like magic. She threatens him with a sex ban.

She said: 'He knows not to say no. I will quite happily put him on a sex ban for one to three weeks which I have done in the past. The power of a woman's private parts is amazing to get what you want off men.'

Janey has no income of her own but the shopaholic is all too happy to have Ross foot the bill for her designer taste which includes: expensive make-up and plastic surgery, 100 pairs of shoes and cosmetic treatments worth £5,000 in the past six months alone.

Before Ross met Janey and started blowing his money, he was a diligent saver but that's ancient history now with his fiancee eating into his bank balance.

On her part, Janey said she has no qualms about being 'a kept woman' and spending his money.
She said: 'Ross has always given me an allowance, it started at £60 a month. Last month I spent £3,000.
'I could easily blow £15,000 in London. I admit I am a shopaholic. I find it relaxing and therapeutic. If you are having a bad day shopping is amazing.

'I am not a diva as in a B-I-T-C-H but I know what I want and I if I want it I get it, simple as that.
'I do like being a kept woman but at the same time I get bored.'
Ross, 30, admits he has his concerns over his fiancee's reckless spending.
He said: 'I don't think she grasps the concept of money, that it might not be there tomorrow.'
But he admits he 'barely says no to her' demands, which currently include £70,000 for a new Range Rover and at least £14,000 for more plastic surgery so she can have a body like Kim Kardashian's.
Of her surgery plans, Janey said: 'I want a tummy tuck and it would be rude to not have a big bum at the same time and perky boobs.

'I want a "Brazilian Butt Lift" where they suck fat out of wherever you want and inject it into your bum, so it is recycling which is a good thing.'
Ross isn't keen on the plastic surgery but he is prepared to foot the bill 'if she wants it to make her happy'.

The red lights are already flashing, the couple have been warned by a financial adviser that their annual expenditure of £100000 is unsustainable as it is above Ross' income.
Janey admitted listing her recent spending was a wake up call.

She said: 'Looking at it and breaking it down I think my income - our income - is so disposable we can live off it but we have I have gone a bit wild and took things for granted.'
Ross said he hopes Janey will start thinking more before she spends now she has heard the warnings from the financial adviser.
He said: 'I do spoil her. Will she stop? I think she will slow down.'

COURT ORDERS BUHARI TO PAY $3.25 MILLION TO BOKO HARAM MEMBERS

An international court, the court of the Economic Community of West African States, has ruled against the Federal Republic of Nigeria regarding extra judicial killing and injuring of certain Boko Haram members.
The case was decided by a three-judge panel led by Judge Friday Chijioke Nwoke. According
to the ruling, Nigeria was found liable for the “barbaric, illegal and unconstitutional” deaths and injuries of Boko Haram members.

The court ordered the government to pay a compensation of $200,000 to the families of each man killed and $150,000 to each of those wounded. Soldiers and Secret Service Agents killed eight Boko Haram members and wounding 11 others in Abuja on September 20 the, 2013.
The Nigerian army and Department of Security Services had opined that troops fired in self-defense on an alleged group of Boko Haram extremists.

Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission investigated the shootings and also ordered the government to pay victims compensation, which never has been paid. The incident occurred in the Apo suburb of Abuja were Boko Haram members were squatting in an unfinished building.
At the time, the military did not respond to media reports suggesting the raid was requested by a retired army officer who owned the building and wanted the squatters out.
The court case, brought by a nonprofit representing the victims, is the latest blow against Nigeria’s security forces.

Amnesty International has accused the army of being responsible for the deaths of some 8,000 civilian detainees in its fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast, ABC reports.
In December, the military gunned down hundreds of Shiites over three days in the northern town of Zaria, and this year it has been accused of killing an unknown number of civilians in a  crackdown on militants operating in the oil-producing south.

I wonder why the Government or the Court has to bring forth such verdict, this people are people that has taken countless numbers of lives and coursed a lot of damages to the country.
Thou the levee is yet to be paid, in-case if it should finally be paid, will it be for the betterment of the country to compensate people for their criminal activities? This is a very good question the Court should ask themselves.

Female tourist raped in Qatar fined £582 & given a suspended jail sentence for adultery

A 22-year-old Dutch tourist who was drugged and raped by a stranger in Qatar has been given a suspended jail sentence for adultery.

According to her lawyer, Brian Lokollo, she was on holiday with a friend and went out for drinks at a hotel bar in the Qatari capital on March 15.
'She went dancing but when she returned to the table after the first sip of her drink, she realised that she had been drugged.
She really didn't feel very well. The young woman remembers nothing more until the following morning when she woke up in a totally unfamiliar apartment and realised to her great horror, that she had been raped. The man insisted they had consensual sex and claimed the woman had asked him for money.'

After reporting the attack to the police, she was arrested and charged with adultery for having sex out of wedlock. The man she accused was sentenced to 100 lashes for adultery, 40 lashes for consuming alcohol but will not serve any time in jail. However, She was fined 3,000 Qatari riyals (£582) and told she would be deported after she had paid the fine.

Briefing reporters on the case, Dutch ambassador to Qatar, Yvette Burghgraef-van Eechoud said:

'We will do everything to get her out of the country as soon as possible to where she wants to go.'

Diezani reacts to Al Jazeera report, says even market women have jewelry

Earlier today, Al Jazeera released a video report, claiming a house worth $18million and allegedly owned by Diezani had been seized by the EFCC in Abuja. They also claimed that jewelry worth millions of dollars belonging to the former Minister of Petroleum was also seized.
Reacting to the report, which has gone viral, Diezani said the report represented 'everything ridiculous and despicable about professional media practice and global best practices in the war against corruption.'. She said she's being demonized and that even market women have jewelry. Read the full statement personally signed by her and given exclusively to Signal after the cut...

My attention has been drawn to a report by Al Jazeera, which was released on Monday as a testament to the effectiveness of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its war against corruption.

In the video report, which has been widely circulated in the social media, there are claims about me owning a property in Abuja allegedly worth $18 million. The report, which represents everything ridiculous and despicable about professional media practice and global best practices in the war against corruption, is the latest attempt to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it. Clips of jewelry allegedly worth over $2 million were also copiously displayed as if to feed the cravings of an audience gratified with the notion that every wealthy Nigerian is corrupt.

This will not be the first time calculated attempts have been made to demonise and damage my reputation in the public space. Many times, my detractors have gotten away with these irresponsible smear campaigns because they have become accustomed to my characteristic approach of silence in the face of these callous attacks.

The latest in the string of propaganda attacks launched against my person since I left government as Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister is this Al Jazeera report, which without any court conviction anywhere in the world attempts to dress Diezani Alison Madueke in the garb of a common criminal. This, to say the least, is the height of journalistic brigandage and a sheer mockery of Nigeria’s anti-corruption war before the eyes of the world who are watching and asking if the war against corruption is a circus show where suspects are prosecuted and sentenced on the pages of newspapers and video blogs without anything as remotely in the semblance of a trial in the courts of law. When did it become a crime to own a property in
Nigeria? When did it become a crime for a woman of my status to have in her possession, jewelry?
Jewelry, which women all across the world, including the woman selling tomatoes in Bodija market have in abundance in their closets? In which court of law, anywhere in the world was prosecuted by the EFCC and found guilty of corruption?

With all sense of modesty, I say this only for posterity and for the records. I have strived within my means and the blessings of God to live a decent and accomplished life. I studied architecture in England and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Howard University, United States of America in 1992. When I returned to Nigeria that same year, I joined Shell Petroleum Development Corporation. In 2002, I obtained an MBA at Cambridge University, United Kingdom. In April 2006, I was appointed by Shell as the company’s first female Executive Director in Nigeria. In July 2007, I was appointed by the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua as Minister of Transport.
The next year in December 2008 I became Minister of Mines and Steel Development. In April 2010, I was appointed as Minister for Petroleum Resources and served in that capacity till May 2015. During this period as Petroleum Minister, I had the honour of serving Nigeria and representing her in the Organization of Oil Exporting Countries (OPEC) where I was elected first female President. All through my career, I have strived to maintain a record of hard work, integrity and excellence, giving my best to society, because my parents raised me in the consciousness that a man or woman’s greatness is defined not by the amount of wealth they have acquired but the impact of their service to God and humanity.

Coming at such a critical time in my life when I am battling cancer, this poorly executed propaganda bares on its face like tribal marks, a
clearly malicious attempt to victimize an innocent woman in what appears an exaggerated plot to validate and give credibility to the anti-corruption crusade under Nigeria’s new regime.

People who are battling cancer or those who have lost their loved ones to this medical condition understand what I am going through at this time.

This is what makes me ponder at the cold heartedness of those who will go any length to defame and destroy in the name of propaganda. What happened to our shared humanity? I have absolute regard for the law and believe
that people who have breached the laws that govern societies should be made to face the wrath of the law. But in a civilized society, a responsible government owes its citizens absolute commitment to the principles of rule of law, equity, fairness and justice. I have been wrongfully and maliciously maligned and those behind this reckless action know it.

I leave them to posterity, their conscience and above all the Almighty God who is the final judge of all.

At least 15 people have been killed in two days in ongoing war between members of two criminal gangs, the Baggars Confraternity and Mafians, a version of the Klans confraternity in Calabar, according to CrossRiverWatch.

"The hostility between the Baggars and Mafians sources say, began last Tuesday afternoon along Palm street where a strike team of Mafians attacked and killed a member of the Baggars gang along Palm street with his skull carved open with a machete and slashes along his stomach and arms which infuriated his colleagues who later carried out a reprisal attack with at least two mafians gunned down in Goldie and Yellow Duke street axis of Calabar South on Wednesday,"

CrossRiverWatch reports.

"The killings continued Thursday, as 3 more were gunned down at Mbukpa, with 2 happening close to the Mbukpa market, 1 at Umo Orok near New Airport road and Bedwell, all before noon while a source said one more was killed at an undisclosed.

"Another killing occurred later in the day along Palm Street by Mayne Avenue and 1 more was gunned down along Whitehouse street also known as Dan Archibong street, close to Nyong Edem street on Friday morning between 7:30 am and 8am.

According to sources, some Baggars Thursday, converged at the CRUTECH pavilion to plan an attack on selected targets in school only for a combine team of the State Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and Operation Skolombo in about 6 siren blaring vans chased them away following a distress call from the school security network as no fewer than 3 CRUTECH students have been lost to the ‘wars’.

"One other person was said to have been killed at Etta-Agbor by Akim. He was said to have been axed badly around the chest region and left to die. Shops in CRUTECH and around Ekpo Abasi, Yellow Duke, Atakpa, New Airport, Watt market, Bedwell, Egerton, Beach market, Calabar road, Mayne Avenue, Goldie and other major places in Calabar South now close earlier than usual to avert ‘eventualities’.The fight according to reliable sources say the rivalry is for supremacy as to who controls ticketing for tricycles (keke) in major points in Calabar South"

Bill Gates (Microsoft) buys LinkedIn for $26.2B in cash, as His Great Move on Social Media

Microsoft, today, announced that it is acquiring LinkedIn, the social network for professionals with 433 million users, for $26 billion, on $196 per share, in cash. The transaction has already been approved by the boards of LinkedIn and
Microsoft.

LinkedIn is keeping its branding and product. It will become a part of Microsoft’s productivity and business processes segment. LinkedIn’s CEO Jeff Weiner will report to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Read the letter Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella sent to employees about the buy after the cut:

Team,

I'm excited to share that today Microsoft announced a deal to acquire LinkedIn. You can see how Jeff Weiner, the CEO of LinkedIn, and I envision the opportunity ahead in this public presentation.

This deal brings together the world's leading professional cloud with the world's leading professional network. I have been learning about LinkedIn for some time while also reflecting on how networks can truly differentiate cloud services. It's clear to me that the LinkedIn team has grown a fantastic business and an impressive network of more than 433 million professionals.

Given this is the biggest acquisition for Microsoft since I became CEO, I wanted to share with you how I think about acquisitions overall. To start, I consider if an asset will expand our opportunity specifically, does it expand our total addressable market? Is this asset riding secular usage and technology trends? And does this asset align with our core business and overall sense of purpose?

The answer to all of those questions with LinkedIn is squarely yes. We are in pursuit of a common mission centered on empowering people and organizations. Along with the new growth in our Office 365 commercial and Dynamics businesses this deal is key to our bold ambition to reinvent productivity and business processes.

Think about it: How people find jobs, build skills, sell, market and get work done and ultimately find success requires a connected professional world.

It requires a vibrant network that brings together a professional's information in LinkedIn's public network with the information in Office 365 and Dynamics. This combination will make it possible for new experiences such as a LinkedIn newsfeed that serves up articles based on the project you are working on and Office suggesting an expert to connect with via LinkedIn to help with a task you're trying to complete. As these experiences get more intelligent and delightful, the LinkedIn and Office 365 engagement will grow. And in turn, new opportunities will be created for monetization through individual and organization subscriptions and targeted advertising. Jeff and I both believe we have a significant opportunity to accelerate LinkedIn's growth and the value it brings to its members with Microsoft's assets and scale. In fact, when Reid Hoffman, the founder of LinkedIn, and I spoke about the opportunity for us to come together, he called it a "re-founding" moment for LinkedIn and an opportunity to reach the mission the company set out on 13 years ago.

The opportunity for Office 365 and Dynamics is just as profound. Over the past decade we have moved Office from a set of productivity tools to a cloud service across any platform and device.

This deal is the next step forward for Office 365 and Dynamics as they connect to the world’s largest and most valuable professional network. In essence, we can reinvent ways to make professionals more productive while at the same time reinventing selling, marketing and talent management business processes. I can't wait to see what our teams dream up when we can begin working together once the deal closes, which we expect will happen this calendar year.

A big part of this deal is accelerating LinkedIn's growth. To that end, LinkedIn will retain its distinct brand and independence, as well as their culture which is very much aligned with ours. Jeff will continue to be CEO of LinkedIn, he'll report to me and join our senior leadership team. In essence, what I've asked Jeff to do is manage LinkedIn with key performance metrics that accrue to our overall success. He'll decide from there what makes sense to integrate and what does not. We know that near term there will be no changes in who reports to whom so no reporting relationships at Microsoft will change in that regard. This approach is designed to keep the LinkedIn team focused on driving results while simultaneously partnering on product integration plans with the Office 365 and Dynamics teams. During the integration, we'll pick key projects where we can go deep together that will ultimately result in new experiences for customers. Kurt DelBene will lead the overall integration efforts at Microsoft in close partnership with Qi Lu and Scott Guthrie.

I'm on the LinkedIn campus today in California and will host a call for investors at 8:45 a.m. PT with Jeff, Brad and Amy – please join if you can. Following that, I'll then spend the day meeting with the LinkedIn team. Tomorrow, I'll host a special Microsoft employee Q&A — I hope you
can make it.

So far, what I've learned about the LinkedIn team is how much our cultures share many of the same attributes. We both care deeply about individual and collective growth, and find deep meaning in the work we do to make a difference in our world.

Together we'll do just that. While I'm in northern California sharing our vision to empower professionals, the Xbox team is in southern California at E3 sharing our vision to empower gamers. I encourage you to check out the E3 press briefing, which starts at 9:30 a.m.
Pacific Time.

Finally, if you're not on LinkedIn, join up now and start using and learning more.
